Our Goal
As seniors age and need to change their living accommodations, many are forced to leave Summit County because the housing with the levels of care our aging seniors need do not exist. When such facilities are made available in Summit County, these seniors will be able to stay in their community and near family. Our goal is to create a place for seniors to live who can no longer live at their home.
Summit County has agreed to partner with SIS with an allocation of land in their proposed Lake Hill Neighborhood.
SIS will work to identify a developer and operator team to build a vertical small neighborhood senior community within the Lake Hill Neighborhood. Our vision is that this senior community will provide a continuum of care which includes assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care, as well as respite and rehabilitation care.
Fundraising is important for SIS to continue pre-development planning with Summit County. Staying in Summit has been a 501 (c) (3) since 2018 and SIS has chosen to use the Colorado Gives Day program as a cost effective way to process online donations. The funding we receive will help us cover pre-development costs such as concept site and building design plans, legal fees, etc.
Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 6029, Frisco, CO 80443. Your donation represents a very important need in our community.

Our President, Andy Searls, has been advocating for Senior Housing in Summit County for over 20 years. A devoted team of professionals have joined the effort either as board members or committee members. In 2018 Staying in Summit (SIS) was established as a 501(c)3 non-for-profit organization.
Various land opportunities in Summit County dedicated to Senior Housing have been pursued through the years, but until now SIS has not been able to get a commitment for land. A Needs Assessment study in 2021 led to commitment by Summit County government in September 2023 to include Senior Housing in the Lake Hill Workforce Housing Development.
Now SIS is advancing the process to raise funds to cover the costs in the pre-development phase of this project. SIS has applied for grants with local foundations for essential funding of pre-development costs.
However, your support is an integral requirement to make senior housing a reality in Summit County.
